Gelada monkey, Simien Mountains, Ethiopia

Gelada monkeys live on the slopes and the perilously steep sides of the Simien Mountains. Often mislabeled as baboons they are in fact monkeys. The males’ pink chests change to dramatic red in the breeding season.
